Company: Sound Lounge

Role: Technical Lead: Client and Server side development

The goals of the Soundlounge.com redesign was to unify all of the company's divisions under one web presence, while giving site visitors an impression of Sound Lounge's creative culture. As technical lead of all aspects of the project, it was my responsibility to guide the design process from a technical standpoint, ensure the Flash site was search engine optimized, and to develop all Flash/Actionscript 3 and server side components of the site.

Concept

The concept of the site was to present big, bold, video content that can be easily updated by marketing and content staff. Each section of the site features full screen videos that reflect Sound Lounge's work environment and culture.

Flash and Search Engine Optimization

Although the site is built in Flash/Actionscript 3, each page of the site features search engine optimized urls that are also used for deep-linking into Flash content. Each page of the site features search engine friendly text which serves double duty as content for Flash components. The result is a website that is just as visible and update-able as a pure HTML site.

Content Management

Underneath the hood of the shiny Flash exterior is the Drupal content management system. AMFPHP was used to serve AMF data to Flash components, and a custom theme integrates Flash components with the Drupal system.
